Howdy Southern Illinois!

Tonight some of us may see some snow and icy conditions but not enough to really worry about anything. Little or no accumulation is possible at this time. The best time frame for this stuff to start happening is after midnight. The National Weather Service is saying the following for locations that could be impacted:

THERE IS A CHANCE OF SOME VERY LIGHT SNOW OR LIGHT FREEZING RAIN TONIGHT FOR AREAS MAINLY ALONG AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM POPLAR BLUFF MISSOURI TO PADUCAH AND GREENVILLE KENTUCKY. TO THE SOUTH OF THAT LINE…LIGHT FREEZING RAIN OR SLEET IS POSSIBLE.

I really wouldn’t be too worried about it tonight. But as always, if your going to be out on the roads, try to be careful anyways! We will continue to monitor this winter weathe event and report on it if needed. Please feel free to leave reports as comments to this blog or say hello!

P.s. Sorry kids but there should be no school closings tomorrow because of the approaching weather event.

Well southern Illinoisians! Tonight you shouldn’t have to worry much about snow but anyone northof Carbondale, Illinois may see a light dusting of snow that will not create serious road hazard conditions but it would be safe to stay safe anyways. The bad news is that even though most of us will not see much snow activities, we will feel the winter cold that is going on right at this moment. It doesn’t look like we will get another warmup until the middle of next week so just hang on and it will be here before you know it.

Storm Chase Group members are not activated and should not expect an activation anytime soon. We will continue to monitor this weather event in the lab. Please feel free to commenting with any snow reports, suggestions, feature requests and comments of anything really except spam and asking if I need enlargement pills, LOL :p
